CHARLOTTE, N.C. -   Wilson tried to roll with the fast girls today, hanging out with the Charlotte Roller Girls at their practice facility in NoDa.  After dressing in his finest roller derby "ensem,"  he found out how it might feel to be in the middle of a flat track derby bout .  This sport is not for wimps.  And, oh yes, there was that rubber ducky thing...just another day in Wilson's World.

This Sunday at the Grady Cole Center the Charlotte Roller Girls will hold a family friendly double header event beginning at 3:30pm.  So come out and enjoy two great roller derby bouts and participate in "chuck-a-duck" for a chance to win some great prizes.  Arrive early and help the Roller Girls and the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas with their blood drive.  All donations will be used to benefit Charlotte area hospitals.  The drive will run from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.

The Charlotte Roller Girls not only bring us an exciting sporting event, but they also give back to the community.   The league as  well as its members donate their time and a portion of the proceeds from their bouts to local charities in the area.

The Charlotte Roller Girls are currently holding tryouts for women who would like to participate in their great sport.  And, they will even teach you how to skate!  Check out their weblink below for more information on the team, the tryouts, their upcoming bouts and all of their great community work.
