Wrapping Up Wilson's Visits During National Volunteer Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Wilson was Uptown at VBGB today where Saturday's Hands on Charlotte Day will wrap up after a morning of volunteering around Charlotte. He found out that volunteers of all ages enjoy participating in HOC Day.
Crisis Assistance Ministry and the Charlotte Community ToolBank are two of the groups that will benefit from the volunteers that will be a part of HOC. Wilson talked with volunteers from both of the organizations.
National Volunteer Week in Charlotte began Sunday, April 6th, and ends this Saturday the 12th with Hands on Charlotte Day when volunteers will donate their time working on projects with non-profit organizations around the area.
Each year Hands on Charlotte Day has brought together as many as 1,000 volunteers participating in diverse projects. There are projects all across the Charlotte area that people can sign up and volunteer to help with. From something as simple as sorting donated clothing and preparing care packages for children to as physical as clearing debris in neighborhoods or landscaping around schools, there is a project that fits every volunteer. Projects take place from 9am until 12 noon. When the day comes to a close, a large party will be held for the volunteers at VBGB from 12pm until 3pm.
Today is your last day to register and pick your favorite project with which to volunteer. There is no registration on the day of the event. To register click HERE.
