CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Wilson stayed away from the sharp objects today when he was joined by local chefs who were showing off their pumpkin carving skills before competing in this weekend's pumpkin carving contest, "Carved" at  Atherton Market.  From innovative to the scarey, the event will bring out everyone's imagination.

This Sunday at 4pm the event will not only showcase amazingly creative carved pumpkins, but will also have family friendly events with activities for kids such as mask painting, hair and face painting, as well as a photo booth to get your picture made after getting all ghouled up.  Kids 12 and under can bring their carved pumpkin from home to enter into a contest just for them.  Food and beverages for both kids and adults will be available. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, kids without carved pumpkins only $5.

"Carved" is a project of The Piedmont Culinary Guild and will be raising money for Slow Food Charlotte an organization which is committed to helping with the continuing education of regional farmers.
