Wilson Joins UNC Charlotte Students to Kick off their '49ers For Life' Blood Drive
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Charlotte 49ers students and the American Red Cross are teaming up today for their 5th Annual "49ers for Life" Blood Drive. Wilson was there with these great students who normally "bleed green" for their school as they were getting ready for the drive.
The blood drive started 5 years ago by Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity collecting 200 units and now collects up to 1,000 each drive. It is also a good natured contest between other colleges and universities to see who can collect the most units.
The inclement weather this year has cancelled a number of blood drives leaving the Red Cross with a shortage of available blood. Now, more than ever your donations are needed.
The "49ers for Life" blood drive continues from 8am until 7pm today at UNC Charlotte's Student Activities Center, 9201 University City Blvd in Charlotte. Walks in are welcome or you can click HERE to make an appointment.
