Wilson's World Goes off the Rails When Guest Anchor Jon Burgandy Takes Over and Interviews Mayor Patrick Cannon
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A lot can be said about a Wilson's World segment...fun, entertaining, educational; but today's segment is more like "off the rails." With Wilson MIA, his ever faithful cousin Jon Burgandy, 5 time Emmy winner, stepped in. It's a shame he can't remember where he is or who he is talking with. But he was able to bring in a very special guest today, his new friend, Mayor Patrick Cannon.
Live from Ben & Jerry's in Foxcroft East Shopping Center on Fairview Road, Jon Burgandy arrived in style in the new 2014 Dodge Durango from Hendrick Dodge of Concord. Burgandy talked about everything from Ben & Jerry's new Scotchy Scotch Scotch ice cream flavor, to the world record holder for hottest pepper.
Charlotte's new Mayor, Patrick Cannon, joined Burgandy for an episode of "Who's In My Durango?" before joining him inside Ben & Jerry's to enjoy a cone and interesting conversation. Burgandy managed to get serious with Mayor Cannon as they talked about his recent trip to Washington, D.C., his work in the QC and the importance of mentoring students and working with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Smokin' Ed Currin from PuckerButt Pepper Company joined Burgandy with his Guinness World Record hot pepper, the "Carolina Reaper." You can find Ed and his peppers at the 7th Street Market as a guest vendor over the holidays.
William Wilson of William Wilson Clothing even stopped by to talk styling and profiling with Burgandy.
Special thanks to Hendrick Dodge of Concord for use of the beautiful 2014 Dodge Durango.
Ben & Jerry's new Scotchy Scotch Scotch butterscotch ice cream with butterscotch swirl is now available in scoop shops and pints nationwide. Thanks to Karen Toney, Scoop Shop Manager, at Ben & Jerry's, 7800 Fairfiew Road in Charlotte for her patience with Burgandy and friends.
