ELON, N.C. (AP) — Sebastian Koch scored a season-high 21 points to lead Elon to an 82-59 victory over Appalachian State in a Southern Conference game Monday night.
The sophomore guard made 4 of 7 shots from 3-point range for the Phoenix (13-10, 8-4). Elon has won three straight since losing to the Mountaineers (9-14, 5-8) on Jan. 28. In that game, Appalachian State shot 76 percent in the second half while beating the Phoenix for the seventh straight time.
This time the Mountaineers shot 66.7 percent (14 of 21) in the second half, but they already trailed 39-23 at halftime, and their shooting was offset by Elon's 14 second-half points off 10 turnovers. Appalachian State scored two second-half points off three turnovers by the Phoenix.
Drew Spradlin added 18 points for Elon, while Jack Isenbarger had 11 and Ryley Beaumont 10.
Nathan Healy scored 14 to lead Appalachian State.
