Appalachian State rallies past Chattanooga 34-17CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Jamal Jackson threw three touchdown passes and Appalachian State scored 34 consecutive points to erase a 10-point deficit and defeat Chattanooga 34-17 Saturday night. Turnovers put the Mountaineers (2-2, 1-1 Southern Conference) in a 10-0 first-quarter hole. Jackson was sacked by Davis Tull at his 8 and fumbled. Jacob Huesman found Marlon Anthony on a 7-yard scoring pass for the Mocs (1-3, 0-1) two plays later. Chaz Moore intercepted Jackson on Appalachian State's next possession and returned it 42 yards to set up a field goal. It was all Mountaineers after that. Jackson hit Steven Miller for a 35-yard score 32 seconds before halftime for a 10-10 tie. In the fourth quarter, Jackson found Sean Price for touchdowns of 36 and 14 yards, and Brandon Grier returned an interception for a 70-yard score. The Mountaineers, who lost to The Citadel last week, haven't lost two straight conference games since 2002. |
