Bobcats coveting big men after losing out on Davis

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Nine months later the Charlotte Bobcats are still feeling the effects of losing out on a shot to select Anthony Davis in the NBA draft.

The Bobcats again have the NBA's worst record and president of basketball operations Rod Higgins says "finding bigs" is a pressing need.

It's a necessity that could've been filled had the pingpong balls fallen Charlotte's way last May. Instead, the New Orleans Hornets defied the odds by landing the No. 1 overall pick in the lottery and using it on Davis, the draft's marquis player.

While the Bobcats say they're thrilled with the development of No. 2 pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, the bottom line is failing to land Davis has been a huge setback for an organization in dire need of a dominant center.
