Newest Bobcat Cody Zeller arrives in Charlotte

(CHARLOTTE, NC)- Charlotte's first round pick got his first taste of the Queen City as a member of the Bobcats.

Cody Zeller met with members of the media for the first time since being drafted fourth overall by the Bobcats on Thursday night. Zeller spoke about his excitement about playing in Charlotte, the competition between his two NBA brothers, and his love for Sweet Tea.

Zeller, who played in 72 career games in two seasons at Indiana, is the school’s career leader in field goal percentage (.591).  For his career, he averaged 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.2 steals in 29.0 minutes. 

As a freshman in 2011-12, Zeller was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Second Team All-Big Ten and Honorable Mention AP All-American, while also being named a Freshman All-American by Yahoo, Sporting News and the USBWA.  In his first season with the Hoosiers, he averaged 15.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks in 28.5 minutes, while leading the Big Ten and ranking fourth nationally in field goal percentage (.623).
