Panthers cut WR Jared Green, 9 others

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Panthers have announced they have cut 10 players, including wide receiver Jared Green, son of Hall of Fame cornerback Darrell Green.

Carolina still has 12 more roster moves to make before 9 p.m. ET Friday night.

Among the other notable early cuts were Darius Butler, the team's third cornerback last year, and wide receiver Seyi Ajirotutu, who had worked as the No. 3 receiver for most of training camp.

The Panthers also cut running back Tauren Poole, offensive lineman Matt Reynolds, defensive linemen Ryan Van Bergen and Ogemdi Nwagbuo, linebackers David Nixon and Kion Wilson and cornerback R.J. Stanford.

The team also announced Friday it has acquired safety Colin Jones, a special teams player, from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a future undisclosed draft pick.
