McKillop to coach World University Games team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — USA Basketball has announced that Davidson coach Bob McKillop has been selected as the head coach of their 2013 Men's World University Games Team.

McKillop will be assisted on the sideline by Michigan's John Beilein and South Carolina's Frank Martin. The coaching staff was selected by the USA Basketball men's junior national team committee and approved by the board of directors.

McKillop says representing the United States is "one of the most significant experiences for a coach or player."

The Wildcats won their seventh Southern Conference tournament title Monday night under McKillop.

Syracuse coach and USA junior national team committee chairman Jim Boeheim says McKillop and his staff "will have the team well prepared for the challenges of competing against the best players in the world in that age group."
