Duke hosts Memphis with eyes on starting 3-1DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Duke's path to one of its best starts in a while leads through one of coach David Cutcliffe's past nemeses. The Blue Devils will move to 3-1 on Saturday night if they can beat a Memphis team that got the better of Cutcliffe a few times during his stint at Mississippi before the Tigers slipped to become one of the worst programs in the Bowl Subdivision. A victory would give Duke three wins in its first four games for the second time since 1994 and the first since Cutcliffe's first season in 2008. Cutcliffe calls Memphis a challenge and says every game is a must-win for his team because of its historical struggles and its extensive injury list. |
