Help Save CMS Middle School Sports and Support The M2 FoundationSalsarita's 1st Annual Cinco De Mayo Taco SmashCHARLOTTE, NC- Join GOT GAME'S Kelli Bartik as she participates in the Salsarita's 1st Annual Taco Smash on Thursday May 5th in Uptown Charlotte. The event will raise money for Charlotte Mecklenburg Middle School Sports and The M2 Foundation. The M2 Foundation was started in 1999 by retired NFL wide receiver, Mushin (Moose) Mohammad to enhance the educational, physical, and spiritual development of children. The M2 Foundation is committed to motivating youths to overcome barriers through planned sessions and workshops, with a goal to help young people improve educational achievements and develop confidence for becoming healthy, productive adults. The CMS Middle School Sports Program was saved this year thru donations from various businesses and yet we face the reality of the sports program being cut again for the 2011/2012 school year. Salsarita's and The M2 Foundation believe that as a community it is important that Charlotteans act together to help keep this program alive. Sports play an invaluable role in the lives of middle school children by helping build character, encourage physical fitness and motivate them to do well in school to meet the sports participation requirements.
The 1st Annual Cinco de Mayo Taco Smash will host local celebrities, business owners, and local government officials in a fun, foodie, fundraising competition. The event will be held on Thursday, May 5th from 12PM – 3PM at the corner of Trade and Tryon St. in Uptown Charlotte.
