Clint Bowyer Criticized for Using Defamatory Word During InterviewPHOENIX, A.Z.--NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer is taking a lot of heat for comments he made during an interview on Sunday. Bowyer was involved in a wreck with Jeff Gordon, which took him out of contention for the Sprint Cup Championship. Gordon said in an interview that he intentionally wrecked Bowyer. Shortly after the wreck, a brawl ensued between the two driver's crews. Once the smoke cleared both drivers were interviewed about the ordeal. During Bowyer's interview, he said, "It makes us look like a bunch of retards. It's pretty embarrassing for a four-time champion and what I consider one of the best the sport has ever seen to act like that. It's just completely ridiculous." Bowyer was immediately criticized on his Twitter page. Bowyer later tweeted, "Very sorry about interview with the R word. I was so focused on not saying the F or the A word...I don't even know what I said!!! #ugh" |
