IMG Academy for the Panthers This WeekBRADENTON, F.L.-- The heat is on for the Carolina Panthers. Wednesday afternoon Cam and the Cats took the field at their home away from home during the DNC week. Team Captains were announced four days before the season opener. They are the same as last year. Steven Smith and Jordan Gross on offense, Thomas Davis and Jon Beason on defense. The special teams title goes to Jordan Senn. This time last year, there were plenty of Cam Newton doubters as the Rookie prepared to make his NFL debut. The Panthers QB says no thing has changed. IMG Academy is new to most of the Panthers, but its not the QB's first Rodeo. During the lockout last off season, Cam trained with former Panthers Quarterback Chris Weinke, who runs the Facility. Sunday's kickoff with the Bucs is set for 4:25 on FOX Charlotte.
