SCarolina cancels hoops contract with WKentuckyCOLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina has canceled the final two games of its men's basketball contract with Western Kentucky. The Gamecocks agreed to play the Hilltoppers four times after South Carolina hired coach Darrin Horn away from Western Kentucky in 2008. But South Carolina athletic director Eric Hyman says the school wants more flexibility in scheduling after firing Horn in March and replacing him with former Kansas State coach Frank Martin. The Hilltoppers and Gamecocks played twice, with South Carolina winning both games. |
