PG Chennault transferring from Wake ForestWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Starting point guard Tony Chennault is leaving the Wake Forest basketball team at the end of the spring semester. The school said Tuesday that Chennault plans to transfer because he wants to be closer to his family in the Philadelphia area. Chennault calls it "a personal choice that has nothing to do with basketball." He started all 31 games as a sophomore this season and averaged nine points and 2.8 assists for the Demon Deacons, who went 16-17 and finished in a four-way tie for ninth place in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Chennault's departure could clear the way for highly touted freshman Codi Miller-McIntyre to take over at point guard. The four-star recruit from Charlotte is ranked as the nation's 15th-best point guard by Scout.com. |
