WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Hanging with No. 3 Florida State was going to be tough for a healthy Wake Forest team.
Now that the Demon Deacons have lost their most irreplaceable player, it may be nearly impossible.
They're searching for answers now that receiver Michael Campanaro — effectively the team's entire offense — will miss at least four weeks with a broken collarbone.
Campanaro is responsible for nearly 30 percent of the total offense — receiving, rushing and passing — for Wake Forest (4-5, 2-4 ACC). That's by far the most for any non-quarterback on the team.
Tight end Spencer Bishop said Tuesday that "you know someone's got to start making those plays" and the players are eager to find out who will step up against the Seminoles (8-0, 6-0) on Saturday.
