Man Arrested For Huge Marijuana Grow Operation In West Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC– A Charlotte man was arrested Thursday after police found over $1 million in worth of marijuana plants in a grow room.

Police obtained a search warrant for a residence at Lundy Lane off Freedom Drive, upon entry officers discovered five separate grow rooms, housing nearly 740 marijuana plants in various stages of growth.

Authorities seized the approximate value of $1.1 million in marijuana plants and $100,000-$150,000 worth of equipment used to cultivate.

Quang Minh Cao, was arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana, trafficking marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, maintaining and dwelling and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Authorities say they recieved a tip of possible drug activity that sparked a month long investigation into the residence.
