CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Does your dog have what it takes to be “Top Dog” of the 2016 Bark in the Park Top Dog Festival presented by Purina® and Harris Teeter? Here’s your chance to find out.
Entries for the annual photo contest will be accepted March 1-31, 2016 at parkandrec.com.
To enter, click on the “Bark in the Park” link and select the “Top Dog Photo Contest” entry link. Entries are $15. This year’s application includes a short essay question that asks you to describe why your dog is the “Top Dog.”
Entries received without the processed entry fee will not be considered. Limit one entry per dog. Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation employees and Bark in the Park event sponsors are not eligible for the contest.
All entries will be judged by an independent panel based on the following criteria: cleverness, originality and the written essay. Three finalists will be selected for online voting at parkandrec.com and www.wccbcharlotte.com, one of the event sponsors. The public will be able to vote for the Top Dog in April. The Top Dog winner will be announced at Bark in the Park and will receive a prize.
The 2016 Bark in the Park Top Dog Festival will take place Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at Historic Rural Hill, 4431 Neck Road, in Huntersville. The festival will include contests for dogs, musical performances, vendors and much more.
Over the years, the Bark in the Park Top Dog Festival has taken place at William R. Davie Park, McAlpine Park, Metrolina Expo and Historic Rural Hill.
