Wilson’s World: Returning to Concord Mills for a Final Push For Operation North State’s Hurricane Relief Drive

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Operation North State has been at Concord Mills since Monday accepting donations to carry to the Eastern part of the state to help the victims of Hurricane Florence.  They have filled up two large trailers and are still at it.  So Wilson wanted to go back today to remind everyone to stop in before by Monday the 24th to donate and help out.

The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office is also helping out with the drive. They are also collecting donations through Monday, Sept. 24th. Items accepted for donation include: water, canned food, pet food, new blankets, new clothes, diapers, towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, paper towels, work gloves and buckets. Donations may be dropped off from 8am until 10pm at Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Services Building 901 Elizabeth Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204

Bass Pro Shops  shipped an entire truckload of john boat to the area for search and rescue use and are sending another truckload today.

You still have time to help.  Operation North State’s disaster relief trucks will be at Concord Mills through Monday, September 24th in the parking area in front of Bass Pro Shop from 9am until 6:30pm each day.  On Tuesday morning they will then be heading toward the eastern part of the state to 2 National Guard Armories where they will be distributing the items. The items that they are in need of most are water, cleaning supplies, toiletries, personal hygiene items, and even pet food.
