Update: Arrest Made In Case Of Two Sexual Assaults In One Hour

CHARLOTTE, NC — We are learning new information about the suspect in two sexual assaults in Charlotte within one hour.

Friday, CMPD announced a nearly three month manhunt is over.

CMPD says Lajames Ross kidnapped, sexually assaulted and raped at least two woman in one hour Sept. 14.

Detectives say his morning started at 4:30 on Olivet Dr. near Mint Hill where he sexually assaulted a woman outside a neighborhood.

By 5:30 in the morning, police say surveillance video caught him at an Exxon gas station on Lawyers Rd. where a woman was getting gas.

She says he pulled a weapon on her and made her drive around while he sexually assaulted her.

Police believe Ross had family in that area.

Police say someone recognized the surveillance photos on the news and turned Ross in through Crime Stoppers.

CMPD has given out $29,000 dollars in reward money through that program in 2018.

Arrest records show the arrest record of Ross spans much of his adult life.

His first prison sentence was at 16-years-old.
