Lancaster Police Still Searching For Murder Suspect Considered Armed And Dangerous

LANCASTER, S.C. — Police in Lancaster are still searching for a murder suspect they say should be considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting reportedly happened during a party on February 9th. According to witnesses, 29-year-old Michael Chavis Jr. opened a door from inside a home on E. Arch Street and shot a person outside multiple times.

The victim’s body was later found behind the residence.

Chavis is wanted for Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime. His last known address is on Pardue Street in Lancaster.

He is described as a black man, six feet tall and roughly 165 pounds.
