CMPD: Man Shot, Killed In Southwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A 33-year-old man was fatally shot in southwest Charlotte late Wednesday night, sparking a homicide investigation, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Officers responded to Pressley Road, off of Clanton Road and Bill Lee Freeway, around 11:30 p.m. after an assault with deadly weapon call for service.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Michael Camp, was transported to Atrium Main by medic where he died due to his injuries a short time later.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
