MECKLENBURG COUNTY, NC — Multiple fire crews respond to a barn fire early Wednesday morning in northwest Charlotte.
Crews responded to a fire that broke out in a barn around 7:00am on the 3800 block of Oakdale Road this morning.
The Fire Marshal says the fire was caused by a space heater that was being used by the renter of the property to keep the animals warm.
The fire claimed the lives of nine animals including two horses, a mother Labrador Retriever, and her six puppies.
No other injuries were reported.
