Mary Curtis: Same-Sex Marriage Ban Filed in NC House

A bill filed by four North Carolina House Republicans would reinstate the ban on same-sex marriage, defying a 2015 Supreme Court ruling.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A bill filed Tuesday by four North Carolina House Republicans would reinstate the ban on same-sex marriage, defying a 2015 Supreme Court ruling. The bill titled Uphold Historical Marriage Act, comes just two weeks after lawmakers repealed North Carolina’s HB2.

–Why this bill – with language from the Bible – was filed at all?  Are these lawmakers just playing to their bases?

–What will happen to it?

–Why this issue will not go away? Voters passed a band on same-sex marriage, but that was years ago.

–Will it affect HB2 compromise?
