CALIFORNIA – A 72 year old California man is back home recovering after being lost in the wilderness for 19 days.Β Gene Penaflore and a buddy went hunting in the Mendocino National Forest on September 24th.Β Heavy fog separated him from his hunting buddy and unable to see, he stepped into a crevice, injured his leg and became disoriented.Β Surviving off of algae, snakes, and squirrels and having built a shelter under a tree, Penaflore kept a fire burning night and day until a hunter finally found him.
