CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives have made an arrest after a bank in north Charlotte was robbed. On Thursday, officers say Andre Pierre entered the First Citizens Bank on Mallard Creek Road around 10 a.m. He handed the teller a note demanding an unknown amount of cash. After receiving the money, Pierre left the scene is a black, newer model Chrysler 200.
Officers say shortly after the bank was robbed, they were able to locate Pierre near Nevin Road. Upon seeing detectives, police say Pierre drove away in the vehicle he was driving. Detectives were able to stop the vehicle during a traffic stop. Pierre was arrested and taken into custody after admitting to robbing the First Citizens Bank. He is charged with common law robbery and failure to heed blue lights and siren.
Pierre is currently on probation for his involvement in a bank robbery in Ohio.
