CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Arrest records reveal new details in the overdose death of a 9-month-old boy. Investigators say Kaleb Lowery was found unresponsive in a home on Lina Ardrey Lane in south Charlotte on July 22nd.
The child was taken to a local hospital but died. An arrest record shows the infant had two prescription drugs in his system. Police say Kaleb’s grandmother and legal guardian, Charlene Workman, had a prescription for one of the drugs found in the child’s system.
She has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. Police have not said how the child got access to the medication. Workman is currently in the Mecklenburg County Jail. She has not been given a bond.
