Arrests Made in East Charlotte Bank Robbery

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say the First Citizens Bank on Albemarle Road was robbed by two men and a pregnant woman around 9:20 Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, Cory Talbert and George Rinnix Jr. entered the bank and demanded an undisclosed amount of money and property from the bank employees. Police say when the suspects received the money they left the scene in a vehicle they stole from a bank employee.

The suspects ditched the getaway vehicle a short time later. Police attempted to locate the suspects and found them traveling in a different vehicle, driven by Tiffani Robinson. Officers attempted to conduct a stop on the vehicle but were led on a short chase to District Drive near East Harris Boulevard and The Plaza, where they were taken into custody.

George Rinnix Jr. is being charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of firearm by felon and two counts of 2nd degree kidnapping. Cory Talbert will been charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and two counts of 2nd Degree kidnapping. Tiffani Robinson will be charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, felony flee to elude  and two counts of 2nd Degree Kidnapping. 

All three suspects were transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office where they will remain in custody.
