Four People In Custody After Police Chase In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A local elementary school was on lock down after a police chase ended in south Charlotte.

This all started when police were searching for several breaking and entering suspects in west Charlotte.  They were able to take one of the suspects into custody on State Street. They caught two more suspects a short time later.

A fourth suspect ran from police in an SUV and eventually stopped on Colony Acres Drive.  That suspect was also taken into custody.

Police say one of the suspects possibly fired a shot during the short pursuit.  No officers fired their weapons during this incident.  Detectives will continue to determine if a shot was actually fired by the suspects.

Nations Ford Elementary School was placed on lock down but that lock down has now been lifted.
