Gay Couples Apply For Marriage Licenses In NC

CHARLOTTE,NC–North Carolina gay couples were able to apply for a marriage license for the first time since the supreme court overturned DOMA.

The Register of Deeds in Asheville accepted at least ten same sex applications Tuesday but that’s as far as it will go.

The state attorney general says he supports gay marriage, but cannot accept the applications.
