The President still has to sign it, but just a few hours ago, the Senate and House passed a deal that nobody is happy with, but everybody can live with. It funds the government until January 15th, and raises the debt limit until February 7th, which gives them time to work a new deal, or it all starts over again. The main concession to Republicans: it brings back income verification for the President’s health care plan. While the story might have a sequel later on, the details are being jotted down for history now.
