Man on the Edge – What’s a Phone Book Good For Anymore?

Just like the serial killer in a bad horror movie, it keeps coming back year, after year, after year.  The classic phone book is a holdover from a time when telephones were mounted on your wall, and people let their fingers do the walking.  But hasn’t that time passed?

You’ve probably already noticed them on the stoops of neighbor’s houses, and maybe you’ve got yours already.  Phone books have been showing up this week out of the blue like an STD, and the Yellow Pages are being delivered to every home, even if you don’t have a landline.  And that’s about 50 percent of you.  You’ve ditched them for cell phones like everybody else… that’s the march of technology.  And that march means most of you are looking up numbers and businesses on your computers or smartphones.  Who even has the strength to lift one of the behemoths anymore?  

But for all their antiquity, they’re not totally useless, right?  Our Man on the Edge, Robert Wilder, hit the streets with a couple of phone books to get some ideas on what you can actually do with them…
