CHARLOTTE, NC: When you think of oatmeal, tasty probably isn’t what comes to mind. Brittany Dixon, founder of A Healthy Slice of Life, is adding a little appeal to microwave oatmeal!
Brittany’s directions:
Ingredients (per 1 pack) -1/3 c rolled oats
-1/8 tsp cinnamon
-1 tsp sugar (or more or less to taste)
-dash of salt
Mix-ins (1-2 Tbsp of your favorite) -raisins -dried blueberries -banana chips -walnuts -almonds -peanut butter powder -chia seeds -shredded coconut -protein powder -etc
Directions -make and label packs.
When ready to eat, empty into microwave-proof container that contains room for oatmeal to double in size.
-Add ½ cup of water -microwave 2-3 minutes until it reaches desired consistency -stir and enjoy!
