CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bring your fellow animal lovers to one of the highly anticipated animal rescue events of the year. Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love (GDFRL) and Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue (BRBR) are teaming up on Saturday, September 14th from 11am-4pm at Amos’ South End to celebrate several regional animal rescues in our area. There will be food, drinks, shopping, and a silent auction with incredible prizes from area vendors. Meet animals currently available for adoption and learn more about specific breeds to help you decide the best choice for your family environment. In addition to GDFRL and BRBR, meet volunteers and adoptees from Ruff Love Foster Care Rescue, Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue, Carolina Mastiff Rescue, Catering to Cats and Dogs, Safe Haven, Greyhound Friends of NC, and Companion Canines.
You can make a tremendous difference in the life of an abused or neglected animal whether you decide to adopt, foster, donate supplies, contribute to rehabilitative medical funds or volunteer your time and talents in any way imaginable. You have the opportunity to show your children how to take responsibility, while teaching them valuable life skills. Caring for a pet strengthens disciplinary and social skills and helps people maintain healthy relationships in addition to creating all the fond memories they will cherish for a lifetime.
Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love (GDFRL) (www.greatdanefriends.com) is a local rescue organization founded by compassionate volunteers dedicated to saving the lives of Great Danes and other large breed dogs, especially dogs passed up by other rescue groups because of their special needs. GDFRL is an extension of Ruff Love Rescue, which is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization based in Thomasville, NC.
Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue (BRBR) (www.blueridgeboxerrescue.com) is a non-profit corporation licensed in North Carolina committed to the rescue, medical treatment and home placement of purebred Boxers and Boxer mixes that have been abused, neglected, abandoned or surrendered by their owners. BRBR’s goal is to give these dogs the happy and healthy lives they deserve in North and South Carolina as well as parts of Virginia.
Both rescues only place their dogs in foster homes so they can receive one on one care, as well as the love and attention that only comes from being part of a family environment. Because of this, there is always a high demand for foster homes Please consider opening up your home and your heart for a rescue dog in need. Your support and contributions are greatly needed and sincerely appreciated.
