CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man that was struck and killed Tuesday by an SUV on West Trade Street has been identified as Sandy Haynes. Β
Police say Haynes was not crossing in a designated intersection when he was struck by Demorris Willingham driving westbound in a 1999 Ford Explorer. Β
Alcohol was not a contributing factor for the driver. Β It is still unknown if alcohol was a factor for the pedestrian. Β No charges have been filled.
