Steel from the World Trade Center is on display in Mooresville, along with a 110 lb. beam and chunks of marble from the first floor. The artifacts are part of a military museum inside Richard’s Coffee Shop. Organizers hope they honor those who died on September 11th, and all those who have died in service since.
“All of us are affected by the events of that day,” says John Hedley of Welcome Home Veterans. “And to think that we’re going to have some of the artifacts here with us is just a very emotional and phenomenal thing.”
The museum also displays items donated by September 11th first responders.
