CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It may have been a little early for tacos for most people, but not the guys with Wilson today. He was at Salsaritas at Quail Corners Shopping Center with South Meck High School’s DECA students who were chowing down the tacos.
The DECA students are teaming up with Salsaritas for their Caring Cantina community outreach. Caring Cantina was created to help fight homelessness and pass along the true spirit of hospitality to families in need. This year Caring Cantina will provide a brighter Christmas for families who may not have one. If you know a family in need, you can go to a Salsaritas, log onto their website or follow them on Facebook and nominate the family.
The DECA program is an association of marketing students which gets students more involved and ready for the future in the business world while also helping out in the community and with charity organizations.
After teasing these poor kids all morning, the taco eating contest finally got underway. Tacos and fun were had by all. Wilson thanks all of the DECA students from South Mecklenburg High School for getting up so early and risking their digestive systems.
