Edge on Demand: Too Fat to Trick-or-Treat?

This video is no longer available.

Imagine your own child coming home from Halloween with an empty bag, because somebody didn’t think they should eat candy.  One woman in North Dakota is actually sending “husky” kids home with a note, instead of any candy.  It says, in part, that she thinks it takes a village to raise a child, and that whoever has the note is “moderately obese” and shouldn’t be eating sugars and treats.  Then she has the gall to suggest the parents ration candy to their kids.

So is denying obese trick-or-treaters candy the best way to handle the obesity epidemic?
