Fiancee Of Unarmed Man Killed By CMPD Officer Asks Police To Release Video Of Shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The fiancee of the man shot and killed by a CMPD officer is asking police to release the dash-cam video of the shooting.  Caché Heidel will make the announcement Tuesday morning in Uptown.

Officer Randall Kerrick is accused of shooting 24-year-old Jonathan Ferrell in September in northeast Charlotte.  Ferrell was unarmed.

Police found his wrecked vehicle near the scene of the shooting. They believe he might have been looking for help after being in the accident.

Investigators say Ferrell knocked on the door of a home in the area and the homeowner called police thinking he was trying to break into her house.

The officer has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.
