GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – An animal rights group in Gaston County is asking for the parks director to step down. The anger stems from this summer when crews rounded up about 150 Canada geese at Gaston County Park to be euthanize. At the time, Parks and Rec Director Cathy Hart, said “the birds were a health hazard.” The group said it has more than 5000 signatures on its petition.
