CHARLOTTE, NC–A local legend needs your help to pull off one last Christmas giveaway. Β For the past 45 years, Jimmy Murphey has handed out thousands of Christmas bags to the needy in Concord. Β This year, he needs money, volunteers, clothes, and toys. Β He says he’s getting too old to handle the charity event alone.
“I’m doing all I can for my last year, to make sure my last year will be among my first,” he says. Β Last year, Murphey ran out of supplies, and ended up emptying out his own bank account. Β
