Charlotte has one of the prettiest skylines in the entireΒ Southeastβcheck thatβmake it the entire nation. Β The QC has a lot going for it, from Uptown’s excitement, to the prestige in South Charlotte, to the “suburban” feel around the 485 loop. Β Every different area has a different and unique feel to it. Β So which is best?
Charlotte just showed up on a list as one of the best places in America for people 35 and under. Β Vocativ.com’s Livability Index takes into consideration things like salaries, employment rates, the cost of rent, utilities, and food. Β Plus coffee shops and bars, live music, vintage clothing and transportation… hipster stuff like that.
And while Charlotte’s mix of the eclectic makes for a fantastic living experience, Charlotte isn’t really a homogenous town. Β It’s more like a giant border drawn around a bunch of little towns. Β From the artsy-ness of NoDa, to Plaza-Midwood’s post-hipster/neuveax-family feel, to University City’s pragmatic populace, to Ballantyne’s explosion of “posh”. Β Cotswold offers some “old Charlotte” charm, while Uptown… well, it’s Uptown.
Every different place in Charlotte has a lot to offer the 35-and-under crowd, but that doesn’t mean everybody “fits” everyplace in town.
Our Man on the Edge, Robert Wilder, is the kind of hipster who was hipster before hipster was hip. Β So he has to find out: what’s the coolest and hippest part of Charlotte to live in?
