Man on the Edge: Halloween and Religion

There’s a tenuous acceptance of Halloween by most religious people.  Many feel it’s mostly harmless, and just a chance for kids to dress up and have fun getting candy.  But others connect it to its pagan roots, and see Halloween as a gateway to Satanism.  Some of them will work from the “inside”, adding religious flyers and pamphlets to the goodie bags.

It’s one thing if you’re taking your kids to one of the church alternatives to Halloween.  You know what you’re getting into there.  But dropping something into their bags out on the street?  People can get hot about that kind of thing.

And since our Man on the Edge, Robert Wilder, is all about Halloween, he set out to find out: is there room for “holy” in Halloween?
