Two school systems in Catawba County are raising the high school drop out age from 16 to 18, in line with new state laws.  But at age 18, a kid only has a few more months of school left at most, so they’ll probably figure they may as well finish.  Which is exactly what the school system wants.  So why not just go all the way and make graduation mandatory?
