Man on the Edge – Playing It Unsafe

This video is no longer available.

Things just ain’t what they used to be in school! Β There are brand new rules for what kids can eat, wear, even how they play! Β So what are all these rules doing to today’s youth? Β

Some school rules are genuinely about safety, and we need to keep our kids safe. Β The world, as we’ve seen too many times in the past few years, can be a nasty place.

But other rules, not so much. Β You heard about it on the News @ 10: Richmond Senior High School is suffering from a serious lack of pep. Β An alum recorded the lackluster pep rally at their recent homecoming. Β Students say the school got wind of a prank, and threatened to punish kids who got out of hand. Β Ra, ra, ra.

And a New York school district recently banned balls from recess. Β Soccer balls, basketballs, and even baseballs are off limits. Β Kids are also banned from doing cartwheels or playing tag!

Our own skater boy and Man on the Edge, Robert Wilder, used to hang ten at school. Β But if kids can’t even play with balls these days, there’s no way they’d let Robert ride the wood. Β

So what did you do when you were in school that kids these days could never get away with?
