CHARLOTTE, NC — Mayor-Elect Patrick Cannon makes his acceptance speech at the Sheraton Hotel in Uptown Charlotte. At the time of his speech, Mayor-Elect Cannon (D) held nearly 53 percent of the vote, with 165 of 168 precincts reporting. Republican candidate Edwin Peacock held nearly 47 percent of the vote.
