Police Arrest Suspect in String of Armed Robberies, Second Suspect Still Missing

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man has been arrested in a string of armed robberies. On Sunday, police say they were called to Milhaven Lane in reference to a stolen vehicle.

The victim stated that her son, Nahum Rea, took her vehicle without permission. Rea was wanted on robbery with a dangerous weapon warrants after he was accused of being involved in several commercial armed robberies that occurred in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Early Tuesday morning, detectives received a license plate reader hit that captured the stolen vehicle traveling on South Boulevard. Officers located the stolen vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver jumped and ran from the vehicle and after a short foot pursuit, police were able to identify the driver as Nahum Rea.

Police say Rea confessed to all five robberies and was charged with three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon. Authorities are now looking for Miguel Zelaya, the second suspect involved in the armed robberies.
