Police Search for Shooter After Man Shot in York County

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Officers are actively searching for information after a college student was shot in the leg. The shooting happened around 3:14 p.m. in the rear parking lot at the Emmett Scott Recreation Center on Crawford Road. When officers arrived on scene they discovered a male sitting inside his car with a gunshot wound to the leg. 

The victim told officers he was a student at Clinton College. Police say the shooting did not happen on campus nor is it related to an incident at Emmett Scott several weeks ago.

The victim was treated on scene by Piedmont EMS and later transported to Carolinas Main Center. 

Police are now working to find out who the shooter is. As more information becomes available, we’ll have the latest on WCCB News @ Ten.
